hi there John here again okay so back bypopular demand I have another kind ofstory for you but just before we startthe story there's probably somevocabulary that you might not know soI'm just going to go through some of thewords that are going to be in the storyjust to help you along the other thing Iwanted to say about these words or anywords new words that you come across isit gets a really good idea that when yousee a new word or even if you hear afteryou know my my description or definitionof the word a good thing to do is see ifyou can take in English to Englishdictionary I always think that's betterand take a look at the word in thecontext of a sentence the bestdictionaries in my opinion is adictionary where you can see the wordand then it gives you an example of theword used in context in a sentence soread that and thence to see if you canunderstand it and then so the finalthing you would do to really I thinkunderstand the word is to see if you canuse that word in a sentence of your ownand I think that's really kind of theside of okay I really get it Iunderstand okay so I'm going to justgive you my definitions of these wordsand we'll take from that okay so thisone rare rare is something that's verysort of uncommon something that is justnot very many of them very very very fewof them something that is rare often itcould be like an antique an old an oldproduct or something insured ifsomething is insured of what happensthat you get there's an insurancecompany and you pay money to theinsurance company and if somethinghappens to a product for example orsomething or your house is insured forexample thenif something happens to the housethey'll give you money for it okaystockpile is just basically the supplyof something that you you have could bealso in a restaurant or just somethingthat you have premium payment that isthe money that you have to pay for aninsurance policy okay so the amount ofmoney that you have to pay so theinsurance company will pay you ifsomething happens to that to file aclaim if something does happen forexample we'll just use the house as anexample if your house is burned and itis insured you after the house forexample it burns you filed a claim it'slike telling the insurance company thatthis happened sighting is kind of liketo to to sort of support it mention togive reasons for something sued is whenyou you take someone to court there'ssomething that they did so you take themto court and usually money would beexchanged depending on the outcomefrivolous is just something that's justnot CID not serious not necessary notworthy not important a fine is somethingthat you you must pay if you dosomething wrong so I don't know whodrives but if you do drive you'veprobably unfortunately received like aticket on your on your car because youhaven't parked in the right place or ifyou've done something bad bad you couldreceive a fineokay so money you have to pay okay soappeal appeal is that a lot of thisvocabulary is kind of good for thingsrelated to the law so this these wordscan be really great for that when you'rereading reading in in other newsin the newspaper etc an appeal is if yougo when you go to court if you're nothappy with the decision that the judgegives you you can ask for an appeal soit's like to do the trial or do thatagain insurance policy I think we spokeabout it briefly just the documentstating the details of the of theagreement between you and your insurancecompany to consume is to sort of finishcomplete yeah that's probably normalfashion is just an expressionjust to do something in the normal waywarranted is is where you do somethingwhen it's something you do in if it werefor the right reasonsso it's sort of the accepted way ofdoing it guaranteed is like kind of likea promise sometimes if you have you buyproduct and usually there's like aguarantee where you know if it breaksthat they will pay you money for itbefore that is finished arson is whenit's a the criminal act of setting fireto a property usually not your own thissentence is well there's the Englishsentence but in this story is differentthe sentence is usually after in thecontext of a trial the judge if you'vereceived you've been found guilty thatmeans that you're found to be thatyou've done something wrongthe sentence is it could be maybe timein jail or a big or you have to dosomething so it's kind of like the thepunishment obligated is just somethingthat you have to do okay so with thesewords I'm going to read Astoria and it'skind of a funny story so I hope youenjoy it okay it's story time all rightso here's the story a charlotte northcarolina man having purchased the caseof very rare very expensive cigarsinsured them against fire among otherthings within one month of having smokedhis entire stock pile of cigars andwithout having made even his firstpremium payment on the policy the manfiled a claim against the insurancecompany in his claim the man stated thecigars were lost in a series of smallfires the insurance company refused heyciting the obvious reason that the manhad that the man had consumed the cigarsin the normal fashion he smoked them theman sued and won in delivering theruling the judge agreeing that the claimwas frivolous stated nevertheless thatthe man held the policy from the companyin which it warranted that the cigarswere insurable and also guaranteed thatit would insure against fire withoutdefining what it considered to beunacceptable fire and was obligated topay the claim rather than endure alengthy and costly appeal process theinsurance company accepted the rulingand paid the man fifteen thousanddollars for rare cigars he lost in thefires howeverafter the man cashed the checksperceived his money he got that fifteenthousand dollars and put it in the bankthe company hadn't arrested on 24 countsof arson with his own insurance claimand testimony from the previous casebeing used against him the man wasconvicted1分幸运28 of intentionally burning hisinsured property the cigars andsentenced to two years in jail and finedtwenty four thousand dollars what acrazy story okay so if you enjoyed thisvideo and you would like to see morefabulous videos like this about grammarand listening on all sorts of differentthings go to WWEI totally forgot um so so you can on thesite that I told you just a second agowwe.com go to that site and you can alsosee some quiz it a quiz about this storyand some of the vocabulary okay so takequizyou
